Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Qwip collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and direct.

What we collect

Account info from Google. When you sign in we receive your email address, name, and profile photo from Google. We do not see or store your Google password.
Content you upload. Audio files, cover art, track titles, genres, tags, and artist bio.
Activity on the Service. Tracks played, playlists created, flags submitted. Used for play counts and moderation.
IP address and timestamps on critical actions (artist onboarding, track upload, flag submission). Used for fraud prevention, rate limiting, and legal record-keeping for our human-music-only attestation.
Cookiesneeded to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

What we do NOT collect

We don't track you across other websites. There is no cross-site advertising tracker on Qwip.
We don't sell your data to anyone.
We don't collect listening history beyond aggregate play counts.

How we use your information

To run the Service (authenticate you, serve audio, save playlists)
To enforce our human-music policy (timestamps and IP for the per-track attestation chain)
To investigate abuse and respond to legal requests
To send transactional emails (e.g. when a track is removed)

Third parties we share data with

We use a small number of vendors to run the Service. They each have access only to the minimum data needed. We disclose them by category below; if you need the specific vendor for a regulatory request (subject-access, deletion, etc.), email admin@qkwip.com.

Application hosting provider — runs the website. Sees request metadata.
Managed database provider — stores user accounts, tracks, playlists, and other structured data.
Object storage provider — stores audio files and cover art.
OAuth identity provider — authenticates you (sign-in only). We receive your email, name, and profile photo.
Transactional email provider (planned) — delivers system emails such as track-removal notifications.
Privacy-friendly analytics provider — counts page views and traffic sources to help us understand how the site is used. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers; IP addresses are anonymized at ingestion.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or delete your account and content. Email admin@qkwip.com. If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing.

Children

Qwip is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact admin@qkwip.com and we'll remove the account.

Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it (for example, a record of a track's removal for ToS violations).

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be communicated via email or in-app notice and will increment the version number above.
